Cresson Borough to Flush / Test Waterlines using Hydrants

Cresson Borough to Flush / Test Waterlines using Hydrants

Cresson Borough will be flushing lines using the fire hydrants on 11/17 through 11/19 during the overnight hours.  Flushing will begin around 9PM and run until 6AM during these dates.  During the flushing you will notice a dark or cloudy look to the water.  Since the water is still contained inside the normal service lines, there is no need to boil the water.

Please refrain from washing clothes, especially whites during times when your water appears ‘cloudy or dark’.  This and many other questions can be answered in the attached document.  Please take a moment to read this, and share with elderly residents who you know within the borough as they may not access social and printed media often.

If you experience any problems during this time, please notify the non emergency 911 number (814.472.2100) and they will notify our local streets crews performing the work.

Please read the attached question and answer document here.

No Overnight Street Parking Starts

No Overnight Street Parking Starts

Fall is quickly turning into Winter here in Cresson, and with that brings the ban on overnight parking on the streets within Cresson Borough.  This parking ban is to ensure that the plow operators can push back and clean all streets during these hours to prevent large build ups of snow that eventually freeze and narrow roadways for motorists and emergency services.

The winter street parking ban goes into effect on November 1st @ 2:00 am, so please remember when you head off to bed on October 31st that your vehicles will also need tucked away to an off street parking location.

The hours for the parking ban are from 2:00am – 6:00am November 1st through March 31st.  The borough police department will issue parking citations for any vehicles left on the streets during these hours.

Thanks in advance for your help in spreading the word and helping to keep the streets vehicle free overnight.
